Updates

Well l am still having a few issues with my ankle. After sitting for what must have been way too long, l noticed my ankle had swollen up quite badly when l got up to pack up for the evening. The amazing thing is the next morning an old friend messaged me asking how l was. I thought, this had to be more than coincidence. So l put my pride aside and told him about my ankle situation. He instantly told me to let him know what l needed. By the evening, he passed by with the items, bar a couple. What can l say…he’s a guy, happily married, but still a guy. I was even more grateful that he picked up some celery for me. l was getting really concerned as to where my next batch was going to come from.

As much as l didn’t want to go. After being told by my doctor twice to got to the hospital and get my ankles x rayed. I eventually gave in. I caught a cab, the driver even waited for me to come out too….possibly due to the lack of clientele🤔.

This was the strangest hospital visit l had ever eperienced. Instead of walking through the two sets of sliding doors to the reception desk like you would normally do. I was greeted by two policemen on approach, who promptly asked me why l was there. After telling them, l was ushered into the space between the front sliding doors and the second set which lead into reception, where there were two chairs. Whilst l sat on the chair, another police man came and brought me a form on a clipboard where l filled in my details. He took it from me and then minutes later a nurse came and spoke to me briefly. I was then ushered through to a waiting area where l waited till l eventually went in to see a doctor.

The corridors were quiet, but l don’t feel they were as quiet they would have been at the beginning of the whole pandemic. I remember seeing eerie footage of empty corridors and hospital rooms stacked with beds and excess equipment. But l guess it might be a great indicator of the fact that we are turning the corner in this whole pandemic. However, the ‘reception’ at the reception, that might be the new norm…well for a while anyway.

So a letter came from the hospital yesterday with a synopsis of my visit the hospital. Basically no breaks with instructions to carry on as normal. Yet when l stand too long on my feet, especially my right ankle, it swells up. I am now finishing off this blog with my feet elevated after only watering my plants, washing up and straightening up the house a little. Not sure how l am supposed to carry on as ‘normal’, but hey! I guess l have no breaks so that makes the suggestion a little easier moving forward…just gotta do it at my own pace. I did read an article which said that sprains can take anywhere up to a year to heal. So l am not rushing anything. To be honest there is no need to in the season we are in now. Where am l going?

Next time l will take you on my journey with my little plants although l have eaten the cress 😋. l still have the pictures though, so it’s all good. The celery is doing ok too, a few casualties, but doing good.

Until the next time. Stay safe and blessed ❤
